On July 8, 2025, the Militzer & Münch Group opened its own national company in Singapore. The company, headquartered in St. Gallen, announced this in a press release. It stated:

“The location will play an important role as a regional coordination center for cross-border logistics in Southeast Asia in the future.”

Singapore is considered one of the leading logistics hubs worldwide. The sector contributes around seven percent to the gross domestic product, and according to official figures, more than 5,000 logistics companies are based in the city-state. Its geostrategic location between the economic areas of Asia, Europe, and Oceania makes Singapore a significant transshipment point for international goods flows. The port

is one of the five largest container ports in the world.

According to Militzer & Münch, the new national company offers the full range of services – including land transport, air and sea freight, project logistics, and customs services. Abdul Razzak, Managing Director of the new company, stated:

“Our goal is to tap into the local market, build a strong team on site, and establish Singapore as a regional logistics hub for Southeast Asia.”

He is supported by Director Asheeq Morris.

Militzer & Münch already operates its own companies in China, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, India, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Mongolia, and New Zealand. With the new location, the company expands its presence

in the Asia-Pacific region. Singapore serves not only as an entry point to the Southeast Asian domestic market with over 650 million people but is also part of the long-term planned Kunming–Singapore Railway, which aims to enable better rail connectivity between Southeast Asia and China as part of the Pan-Asian Railway Network.

Several global logistics providers such as DHL, DB Schenker, Kuehne+Nagel, and DSV already maintain regional hubs in Singapore. The competition is accordingly high, but the choice of location by Militzer & Münch underscores the strategic importance of Singapore in the global logistics network.

“Singapore is not only conveniently located geographically, but it is also one of the world’s most

important business centers. With the new company, we create proximity to key decision-makers and offer our customers even more operational reliability,” said Andreas Löwenstein, Regional Managing Director Asia / Far East at Militzer & Münch.

Aside from its logistical infrastructure, Singapore scores with stable political conditions, customs agreements, and strong economic sectors in areas such as electronics, chemicals, mechanical engineering, and life sciences.

Militzer & Münch operates over 100 locations in nearly 40 countries worldwide. Around 2,300 employees manage international transport in the areas of air and sea freight, land transport, and project logistics. The company was founded in 1880 and focuses on transport connections between Europe, Asia, and North Africa.
