Thermo King, a brand of Trane Technologies, unveiled the new TX-series of truck refrigeration units in Brussels on September 24, 2025. According to the company, the series replaces the previous T-series models.
Higher performance and lower weight
The TX series offers, according to Thermo King, up to 17 percent more cooling capacity than the predecessor models. At the same time, the weight of the units was reduced by up to 40 kilograms. In practical use, the new generation is also expected to consume up to 7
percent less fuel. The units are designed for single- and multi-temperature applications and are suitable for both fresh and deep-frozen transports. Tests were carried out under all climatic conditions, including ambient temperatures up to 55 degrees Celsius.
Technical adjustments and environmental aspects
The series includes one-, two-, and three-zone solutions with revised components to improve airflow. New cooling coils and piping reduce the required amount of refrigerant and thereby lower the greenhouse potential of the units by up to 21 percent. In addition, all models are
compatible with HVO biodiesel. Optional operation with B100 biofuel is also possible without changing maintenance intervals. The use of biofuels can, according to Thermo King, reduce carbon dioxide emissions by up to 90 percent and particulate emissions by up to 78 percent.
Operation and maintenance
The maintenance intervals of the TX series have been extended to 2,000 operating hours. An alert function for scheduled inspections is adjustable. The integrated ServiceWatch system records the operation of the units to shorten diagnostic times. In addition, the BlueBox telematics
enables monitoring of performance data and the receipt of notifications via apps and e-mail.
Noise protection and availability
For use in noise-sensitive areas, the Whisper option is available, which reduces the noise level. The Whisper Pro models additionally meet the stringent requirements of PIEK certification.
The new series is now available in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, according to the company. Thermo King offers a two-year full warranty and provides service and support through a network of more than 500 service centers in 75 countries
