The software firm Zauner expands its digital tachograph data archiving system “zaarc.next” with telematics functions. The new solution “zaarc.next telematics” enables freight forwarding and transport companies to archive tachograph data not only in compliance with the law but also to use it operationally for fleet management and route planning. In doing so, the application completely foregoes additional hardware, a fleet management system or training effort. The only requirement is a DTCO with remote functionality (RDL) and an existing “zaarc.next” installation.

Vehicle tracking, route tracking and remote reading of driver and vehicle data
In the focus of the further development are three core functions: real-time vehicle location, route tracking, and remote reading of driver and vehicle data. The tools are intended to give users greater responsiveness in day-to-day business, especially in cases of delays or capacity bottlenecks. The integration is software-based via
activation within the existing “zaarc.next” interface.
Three variants of “zaarc.next telematics”
The system is available in three variants: “Classic” for smaller fleets up to five vehicles, “Premium” for up to 50 vehicles and unlimited drivers, and “Server” for large fleets with worldwide access and interface connectivity. All versions can be extended with the new telematics features.
“Tachomatik” for tour planning, driver training and violation management
The announcement: Only a few weeks ago Zauner together with TachoEasy AG from Rohrdorf introduced a new software category with “Tachomatik.” The first products, “LEA.fix” and “LEA.dynamics,” extend existing
archiving systems for digital tachographs with analysis and visualization functions. The aim is to enable fleet operators, among other things, more efficient tour planning, targeted driver training and proactive violation management, according to the companies.
The software detects high-risk routes and time windows as well as training needs and supports preparation for regulatory inspections. A separate fleet management system is not necessary; a digital tachograph and a common archiving software suffice. The solutions are usable across industries and sizes.
The Zauner software office has been a 100 percent subsidiary of TachoEASY since August 1,
