Webfleet, a fleet management solution from the tire manufacturer Bridgestone, and the Berlin-based company Peregrine.ai want to collaborate in the development of driver assistance systems. A solution already developed jointly expands Webfleet's existing video telematics with AI-powered visual intelligence. The system can be integrated into existing vehicles via over-the-air update

and is, according to Peregrine.ai, already in use.

In addition to the road situation, the driving context should also be captured. The system should thus detect hazards such as red-light violations, slippery road surfaces or weight restrictions in real

time. The data are translated into warnings for drivers as well as into structured information for fleet managers.

According to the companies, the technology enables beyond the mere recording of driving events also continuous risk detection. Drivers would thus receive real-time awareness of their surroundings, while fleets are expected to

benefit from more efficient operations and better compliance with regulations.
