Coop, together with SSI Schäfer, is renewing the intralogistics software at 60 warehouse locations. The comprehensive WAMAS upgrade aims to standardize and make the logistics processes more efficient. This measure is being implemented against the backdrop of stable growth in the core business and increased digitalization in retail.

The Coop Group Cooperative is focusing on a comprehensive renewal of its intralogistics software. In collaboration with long-term partner SSI Schäfer, a comprehensive upgrade to the latest version of the WAMAS software solution is being implemented at 60 warehouse locations in Switzerland, Germany, Poland, and Romania.

The aim of the measure is to establish a uniform and

future-proof system landscape that is intended to enable greater transparency, flexibility, and efficiency in logistical processes.

Standardized processes for smooth operations

The rollout is taking place within the framework of central program management with standardized processes, which is intended to ensure smooth, cross-location operations. The updated software version supports more efficient control of warehousing processes and serves

as a basis for ongoing automation. With the project, Coop is pursuing, among other things, improved maintainability as well as an increase in information security and evaluation capabilities.

Coop's online business is growing

The initiative is related to the strategic development of the company. In the fiscal year 2024, Coop achieved sales of 34.9 billion Swiss francs.

The growth was supported, among other things, by the supermarket business, online trade, and the wholesale and production sectors. Coop supermarkets, including Coop.ch, achieved net sales of 12.1 billion francs. The wholesale/production business area accounted for 16.9 billion francs. The online business grew to 5.4 billion francs, with the online supermarket Coop.ch in particular showing significant growth.
