The intralogistics specialist Still has expanded its portfolio with a new lithium-ion battery tailored to the most common use profiles. While the batteries of the 'Plus' series were developed in different voltage classes for demanding multi-shift operations with high performance requirements, the new solution targets mid-range power applications.
The concept is based on a precise sizing that aims to avoid overcapacities and thereby reduce investment costs. This way, companies would receive an energy system that is tailored
to actual needs and characterized by a more favorable price-performance ratio.
Lithium-ion technology extends runtime and reduces maintenance requirements
Technically, the battery offers the typical advantages of lithium-ion technology, including short charging times, high energy efficiency, a long service life, and maintenance-free operation. An integrated thermal management should ensure stable performance. Compared with lead-acid batteries, a longer runtime, lower maintenance requirements, and an overall more efficient operation are achieved. Over the entire service life, the cost structure
should remain competitive with conventional systems.
Tailor-made battery for the RX 20 electric forklift
A special role is played by the new battery in connection with the RX 20 electric forklift, one of Still's best-selling models. In this combination, it is particularly suitable for single-shift operation and everyday transport tasks. This makes it especially interesting for companies that want to switch to lithium-ion technology for the first time.
The battery is manufactured at the Hamburg site. On-site
production, according to Still, enables close coordination of vehicle, battery, and charging technology, as well as short transport routes. This contributes to reducing emissions and supports a more sustainable production. In addition, technical adjustments could be implemented promptly.
With the new battery, Still complements the existing offering between maximum performance and practical sizing. For users with higher requirements, the lithium-ion batteries of the Plus series remain available. Thus Still pursues a tiered approach that covers various deployment
