Toyota Material Handling has introduced with the new Optio L-series a completely redesigned generation of low-lift order pickers. The model line comprises six variants, including OSE120/P, OSE250/P, OSE200X and OSE180XP, and is designed for payloads up to 2.5 metric tons. The units are particularly intended for central warehouses with high goods throughput and are intended to enable higher efficiency and improved ergonomics through technical adjustments.
Increased platform lift height for order-picking heights up to 2.8 meters
A key technical aspect is the platform lift height increased to 1,195 millimeters, which allows order-picking heights up to 2.8 meters. The platform features improved damping to reduce vibrations and a larger footprint. This is complemented by a wide entry, standard knee protection, and optionally available features such as side-by-side pedestrian controls and additional storage. These measures aim to facilitate workflows and reduce physical effort.
Ten percent lower energy consumption than the previous generation
In terms
of energy efficiency, the L-series, according to the manufacturer, shows up to ten percent lower consumption compared with the previous generation. The lighter weight directly contributes to reductions in energy demand. The vehicles are available with different battery solutions, including lead-acid and lithium-ion batteries, each tailored to different usage profiles. The design also takes into account improved maintenance accessibility to reduce service times and operating costs.
For greater safety: speed and driving behavior are automatically adjusted
The safety equipment includes as standard the system “Optimised Truck Performance” (OTP), which automatically adjusts speed and driving behavior. In addition, access controls such as PIN-code login and Smart Access are available. A new backrest with side handles is designed to facilitate safe entry. Warning and position lights in blue or red increase visibility in heavily trafficked warehouse environments and contribute to accident prevention.
