The Ulm-based lubricant manufacturer Liqui Moly has developed an online tool intended to assist users in selecting the right additive product. The so-called Additive Navigator has recently become available and is aimed at workshops, trade and end consumers. The goal of the new offering is to facilitate product search and to simplify the use of the chemical problem solvers, according to the company.
Online filter enables additive
search by vehicle type, problem/issue or effect
The application is based on a filter system that allows targeted search by vehicle type, problem/issue, or desired effect. On this basis the tool issues a product recommendation from Liqui Moly's existing range. Access is via the company's website; registration is not required.
According to the company, the tool offers a practical solution for everyday challenges in workshop operations. For
example, symptoms such as rough idle, diminished performance, or clogged diesel particulate filters should be addressable more quickly with a suitable additive. The digital solution does not replace a diagnosis, but should simplify the selection process for known problem cases.
Positive experiences with the online tool for engine oils
Liqui Moly points to positive experiences with a similar online tool for engine oils, which has been in
operation for several years. The know-how gained there has been incorporated into the development of the Additive Navigator.
With the expansion of digital tools, the company is responding to the increasing complexity of the product portfolio as well as to the growing information needs in workshops and trade. The multitude of different additives and their specific application areas necessitated structured advice—especially when no direct technical support is
