The Swedish charger manufacturer CTEK has introduced two new devices, the Pro60 and Pro120 models, developed for professional use in automotive repair shops. They serve the maintenance and stabilization of 12-volt batteries in electric and hybrid vehicles, a component that continues to play a central role despite increasing electrification.
While the high-voltage battery in electric cars provides the drive, the 12-volt battery supplies the
onboard electrical system with energy and is responsible, among other things, for control units, door locking, lighting, or information. Especially during longer standstills or low temperatures it can be heavily stressed. To prevent failures, experts recommend regular checks and maintenance.
Both models of the new CTEK PRO devices are intended to ensure a stable onboard network during diagnostic work, software updates, or longer service
intervals. According to the manufacturer, they offer a controlled charging power without voltage spikes and are therefore also suitable for sensitive vehicle systems.
Features of the new CTEK PRO devices
The PRO60 provides up to 60 amps and is designed for work on compact and mid-size vehicles. The PRO120 delivers up to 120 amps and is aimed at vehicles with higher energy demand, such
as large SUVs, electric cars, or commercial vehicles. Both devices feature an eight-stage automatic charging system that analyzes the battery condition and adjusts the charging current. Thanks to the fanless cooling system, the devices are also protected against overheating, dust, and weather-related influences.
