The international tire manufacturer Continental has presented the first model of the newly developed “Conti Coach Generation 5” tire line, the “Conti Coach HA 5.” The all-wheel tire was specifically designed for passenger transport in the EMEA region and is suitable for long-haul and overland transport. According to Hinnerk Kaiser, Head of Product Development at Continental Truck Tires EMEA, the Conti Coach HA
5 offers a 20% higher mileage, a 10% lower rolling resistance, and high grip.
According to the company, the goal was to develop a tire in which fleet operators do not have to choose between cost efficiency and environmental responsibility. With the Conti Coach HA 5, Continental aims to respond to the growing demand for climate-friendly bus transport with suitable tires for urban
and intercity buses.
Under various road conditions the tire should not wear under load due to its special tread compound. The tread compound reduces heat buildup and is intended to extend the tire’s life. A tread design with pocket-style sipes ensures that grip remains in wet conditions. The Conti Coach HA 5 has been given the EU labeling B for rolling resistance and
wet grip.
Intelligent Tires
The Conti Coach HA 5 is designed as a base vehicle tire and as an intelligent tire. In the intelligent version the tire is offered with an integrated sensor.
