The Pneuhage Retreading Technology plant in Nossen (Saxony) produced in October 2025 the one-millionth retreaded tire since production began in 1991. According to the company, more than 40,000 tonnes of raw materials have been recycled in total. The sister plant in Karlsruhe had already reached this production milestone in 2020. In
2023, the two sites together surpassed the two-million mark of retreaded tires for trucks, buses, trailers and semi-trailers in sizes from 17.5 to 22.5 inches.
The plants employ around 50 employees who annually renew up to 70,000 tires. The basis is compliance with ECE Regulation 109, the requirements of which are
regularly verified by external audits. Pneuhage also trains its own vulcanisers to permanently ensure the quality of retreading.
Customers can have their own casings refurbished with the desired tread pattern or obtain retreaded tires directly from stock. According to sales manager and operations manager Björn Tischer, many fleet operators benefit from
longer service life and lower fuel consumption from reusing their tires.
