The trailer specialist Schmitz Cargobull and the North American tire manufacturer Goodyear have deepened their technological collaboration and will enable fleet operators in the future to directly access Goodyear's tire pressure monitoring system “TPMS Connect” via the Schmitz platform “TrailerConnect Data Management Center” (DMC). The integration allows the use of all functions of the “Goodyear TPMS Connect” application, without requiring additional hardware installations, SIM cards, or new interfaces, according to the press release from the North Rhine-Westphalia trailer and semi-trailer specialist. The tire solution can be seamlessly integrated with the Telematics and TPMS infrastructure already in place at Schmitz Cargobull Trailer. Benefit: the data are made available on a secure platform and can be retrieved on demand; thereby downtime would be reduced and costs optimized.
Goodyear TPMS Connect: Data on tire pressure, tire temperature and GPS positions in real time
“Goodyear TPMS Connect” is a plug-and-play solution that captures and processes real-time data on tire pressure, tire temperature, and GPS
positions. The core of the solution is the proprietary “G-Predict” technology, an analytics platform based on predictive data processing. According to the provider, this allows potential tire problems to be detected early and targeted maintenance measures to be initiated. Unplanned downtime can be significantly reduced and road safety increased. The solution also supports compliance with EU TPMS-related regulations on tire safety.

The “TrailerConnect Data Management Center” now consolidates tire data across manufacturers
The full integration into the “TrailerConnect Data Management Center” from Schmitz Cargobull allows fleet managers to consolidate all tire-related data across manufacturers on a single platform and to combine it with other operational information. It also includes strategic partnerships with over 40 established Real-Time Visibility and Telematics providers, including Trimble, Krone, idem, RIO, ZF Transics and CO3, to which DMC can provide standardized interfaces for efficient real-time evaluation. Through an import function, data from other manufacturers can be centrally mapped and analyzed, according to the release. The system is ready for immediate use and requires no additional IT integration.
Data protection compliant under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
A particular focus is on data sovereignty. All data are consolidated at a central location, monitored and controlled. Users retain their data sovereignty and individually decide which information is visible to which partners. "This means full protection for one's
own business and haulage network," says Schmitz Cargobull. All data would be processed in compliance with the GDPR and would be accessible at one place for the entire fleet. This ensures that business-critical information about transport networks, subcontractors or cargo specifics remains confidential.
Information about individual transports in real time is available to fleet operators via the module “TrailerConnect TourTrack.” Features such as interactive temperature monitoring, GPS tracking, cargo monitoring and condition analyses are tour-based and can be flexibly used for FTL (Full Truck Load) and LTL (Less Than Truck Load) transports.
