The logistics service provider Fiege has established its own division for transport consulting, as stated in the press release dated August 27. With a specialized team, the family-owned company aims to make its expertise in transport and last-mile networks accessible to third-party partners in the future.
The new consulting offering covers all steps from analyzing the current situation through simulating future scenarios to
the technical implementation.
“The modern logistics landscape is extremely complex. Increasingly, players are involved in global supply chains, many markets are volatile, and cost pressure is rising. At the same time, customer-side service expectations are increasing — also with regard to sustainable solutions. It is exactly here that we start with our data-driven consulting and develop tailored solutions to optimize our customers' transport
systems,” explained Ralf Gretenkord, head of transport consulting and last-mile optimization at Fiege.
The offering targets, among others, publishers, retailers, and the industrial sector. The aim is to make transports more efficient and to deliver last-mile shipments to the recipient faster.
“Wherever goods must be transported efficiently and last-mile shipments delivered by the fastest possible means, we can help with our experience,” said
Gretenkord.
For the consulting, the eight-person team relies primarily on data-driven methods. The portfolio includes Center-of-Gravity analyses, geo- and time-tracking as well as tour planning and transport management along the entire supply chain.
“With our 360-degree approach, we also support companies in change management, in training of employees, and ultimately until the optimized transport networks are sustainably anchored in the organization,” said Gretenkord.
