Agile Robots, a Munich-based provider of AI-assisted automation solutions, has acquired the remaining shares in the BMW Group spin-off Idealworks, according to a press release dated September 16. Following its initial investment in 2023, Agile Robots now holds 100 percent of the AMR specialist Idealworks. The BMW Group intends to remain a long-term partner.

to AMR
Idealworks was founded in 2020 and, according to company statements, has built a comprehensive robotics ecosystem that includes the automation platform “AnyFleet,” the simulation software “iw.sim” and the autonomous mobile robot “iw.hub” — supported by a growing network of technology partners. Today, more than 850 iw.hubs are in use worldwide at the BMW Group's production
sites, it is said. In addition, Idealworks has a strong and growing customer base in other industries such as manufacturing, logistics and warehousing.
