The fashion and lifestyle platform Zalando increased its sales and profit in the second quarter of 2025. Following the merger with About You, the company continues to invest in strategic growth areas in both the B2C and B2B sectors. The goal is to expand its market position in European fashion and lifestyle e-commerce, the company announced at a press conference on August 6.

The gross merchandise volume (GMV) increased by five percent to 4.1 billion euros, and sales rose by 7.3 percent to 2.8 billion euros. The adjusted EBIT reached 186 million euros, which corresponds to a margin of 6.5 percent.

B2B business

grows faster than overall sales

In the B2B sector, sales increased by 12.2 percent to 262 million euros. Segment EBIT rose to 11 million euros with a margin of 4.3 percent. The main driver for this was the "ZEOS" fulfillment division, which bundles Zalando Fulfilment Solutions (ZFS) and multi-channel logistics. The British fashion retailer Next now uses Zalando's logistics infrastructure for its German online shop. More countries are set to follow soon.

Shopify integration and Scayle cooperation expand ecosystem

With the new ZEOS Shopify app, Zalando offers European Shopify merchants access to its fulfillment infrastructure, according to its own information. At the same

time, Zalando is intensifying its collaboration with the About-You subsidiary Scayle. The goal is to create a comprehensive software ecosystem for digital sales channels.

Group forecast for 2025

Zalando expects a GMV between 17.2 and 17.6 billion euros and sales of 12.1 to 12.4 billion euros for the current fiscal year. EBIT is expected to rise to 550 to 600 million euros. Investments will range from 200 to 280 million euros. In the longer term, the company anticipates that the integration of About You will bring synergy effects of around 100 million euros annually from 2029 onwards.

AI in the B2C sector

In

the B2C segment, Zalando relies on AI-driven personalization and inspiration through a new discovery feed in the app. The aim is to improve the user experience, strengthen customer loyalty, and enable new advertising formats for brand partners.

Zalando Plus and lifestyle offering grow

The Zalando Plus loyalty program is now active in 17 countries and reaches over ten million users. Zalando grew particularly strongly in the areas of designer, beauty, and Lounge by Zalando.
