Following its premiere in 2024, the EXPO REAL Transform & Beyond special exhibition area has seen a clear uptick: this year, more than 80 exhibitors – startups, scale-ups, grown-ups and technology companies – will present their solutions, according to a press release from Messe München dated September 19. Last year, according to a notice dated September 5, 2024, there were 52 exhibitors. At the trade fair-integrated special area, companies again showcase their solutions for the industry’s central future topics: these include decarbonization, digitalization, ESG, mobility and intelligent building operations.

We are pleased that the event has met with consistently positive feedback," said Claudia Boymanns, Exhibition Director of EXPO REAL. "This clearly demonstrates how

strong the industry’s need is for a platform for professional exchange, orientation and the development of innovative ideas."

At the heart of Transform & Beyond are approaches to decarbonizing buildings and neighborhoods, intelligent building technologies, the use of artificial intelligence and robotics in facilities management, and digital tools to increase energy and resource efficiency.

Across the entire real estate lifecycle — from planning and construction, through operation to transactions — no fewer than 53 startups, scale-ups and grown-ups from eleven European countries present their solutions. They offer approaches to optimizing real estate processes, increasing energy efficiency and sustainability, as well as transforming existing buildings.

The focus is on the industry’s "pain points": increased

cost efficiency through automation and data availability, climate protection through decarbonization, avoidance of "stranded assets" and increased attractiveness for users and investors.

The curated exhibition space in Hall A3 is intended to create a dynamic environment for innovation and professional exchange. Various participation formats — from classic trade fair booths to pitch slots to theme-based panels — are intended to enable a flexible presentation.

The proximity of the TechTalk Stage in Hall B2, designed for the startups' pitches, should provide added value for both target groups. Real estate professionals will thus gain access to future-oriented solutions: From digital tools for existing portfolio management to energy supply concepts to smart user interfaces, concrete points

of connection arise. Conversely, this format offers young companies even greater visibility.

The accompanying technical program in the DECARB ARENA, on the Transform & Beyond Stage as well as in Hall A3 should provide additional insights. Topics include decarbonization and transformation of the real estate stock, climate protection strategies for livable cities, as well as sustainable real estate financing. On the Transform & Beyond Stage, AI-supported digital planning processes are the focus. Through the combination of practical reports, panels and keynote speeches, participants receive an overview of current developments.

New this year are two networking events on the first and second trade show evenings, which will take place as after-work events on Transform
