The Lower Austrian dairy Nöm AG has commissioned Kardex Mlog to build a fully automated dispatch warehouse and comprehensive conveying technology. The new building will provide up to 26,000 pallet storage locations, according to a Kardex Mlog press release dated October 9. As general contractor, the system integrator for material flow systems also coordinates the steel rack construction, the roof and wall cladding, and the delivery of two
electric monorail systems. Groundbreaking took place on June 23, and commissioning is planned for April 2027.
Nöm AG in Baden near Vienna offers a product range of around 1,000 articles and serves customers across the entire European region. The main sales focus lies in eastern Austria and in northern Italy. With the current average dispatch volume of 2,200 pallets per day, logistics, according to Kardex Mlog, has reached
its capacity. By building the new dispatch warehouse, Nöm is responding to a growing order volume and increased demands for speed and precision in the supply chain.
The project includes the construction of a logistics center at the Baden site with a fully automated dispatch warehouse including conveyor technology. For the connection to the outbound goods area, an electric monorail system is planned. The facility is controlled and
organized via the material flow and warehouse management system "SAP EWM".
"No additional sealing will take place due to the new construction, as we are using an existing area, and with the direct connection of the new warehouse we save over 10,000 truck trips per year," said Josef Simon, a member of the management board for Production and Technology at Nöm and the lead for the new build.
