The Austrian Post AG has opened a new self-service branch (SB) at Laurenzerberg 2 in Vienna's 1st district. The company announced this in a press release. This gives over 11,000 households and businesses at Schwedenplatz the opportunity to pick up or send their packages around the clock. The new 24/7 self-service branch was officially inaugurated by Markus Figl, the district mayor of the Inner City, and Walter Oblin, the General Director
of the Austrian Post AG.
“The district regards ensuring local provision for residents of the Inner City as a matter of importance. With the new 24/7 self-service branch at Laurenzerberg, flexibility for customers is given high priority. Especially in times of changing patterns of communication, it is important for us as the district for all generations to have a reliable partner by our side with the Austrian Post,” said Figl on
the occasion of the opening.
Walter Oblin, General Director, Austrian Post AG: “With our new 24/7 SB branch in the Inner City, we are sending a strong signal for modern, citizen-oriented infrastructure in the heart of Vienna. The attractive location offers maximum flexibility for our customers and at the same time enlivens the public space. True to our claim ‘Always there when you need us’, we thus combine innovative services with
urban quality of life, exactly where people live and work.”
The new SB branch covers an area of just under 130 square meters and, according to the Austrian Post, provides space for a modern post station with around 540 pickup lockers for parcel collection, as well as for a redesigned area with 330 classic mailboxes for receiving letters. Two shipping stations enable the franking and dispatch of letters, parcels, or returns.
