The Rhenus Group announced three personnel changes in the company's Air & Sea Division on August 6. The aim of the appointments is to adapt leadership to changing market dynamics and strengthen the logistics service provider's ability to deliver customer-centric solutions in key regions. This is according to a press release from Rhenus.

Accordingly, Joachim Hanssen assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer for the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region as of August 1. As part of his role, he

will also be responsible for Greater China, Central Asia, and Turkey. Hanssen has been with Rhenus for over two decades and has contributed, among other things, to the company's expansion in Asia. With his appointment, Rhenus can strategically consolidate and further expand its activities in the APAC region.

Effective October 1, 2025, Alberto Martinez will assume the position of Chief Executive Officer for Europe (EU). As the current Vice President Global Ocean Freight, he has driven the development

of Rhenus' global ocean freight strategy, expanded trade routes, and forged partnerships with shipping companies, according to the service provider. Martinez succeeds Markus Lingohr, who will retire in 2026.

Renee Toh will assume the role of Vice President Global Ocean Freight effective September 25, succeeding Alberto Martinez. Toh, according to Rhenus, has over 20 years of international experience in ocean freight and trade management, has led interdisciplinary teams, and developed commercially oriented solutions. Before joining Rhenus, she was

Head of Global Ocean Freight Procurement at Ceva Logistics, where she played a role in optimizing procurement strategies and strengthening global partnerships with shipping companies.

"These appointments reflect our long-term vision to create a more agile, integrated, and customer-centric organization. By strategically filling key positions with experienced executives, we strengthen our ability to respond to market changes, deepen customer relationships, and seize new opportunities in the regions," said Jan Harnisch, Member of the Board – Air & Ocean.
