The Krefeld head of logistics Steffen Beniers is being promoted to site lead at the online retailer Galaxus. The merger of the two warehouse halls marks the start of a targeted restructuring of the Krefeld management level. The Swiss-based company announced this via a press release.
Beniers is promoted from Leader Logistics to Site Lead Krefeld. He will thereby take over additional responsibilities around the administration of the site. This includes fostering collaboration at the site as well as expanding it. Robert Brohl, Head of Supply Chain Management at Galaxus:
“Steffen was
the very first logistics employee at Galaxus in Germany and has been with us since the start in 2018. He has enabled and supported the strong growth. In collaboration with the Swiss logistics teams, he has always found the right solutions for Krefeld. I am pleased that he will now officially assume responsibility for the entire Krefeld site.”
Most recently, Robert Brohl was Site Lead in Krefeld. In light of his new role as Head of Supply Chain Management at Digitec Galaxus, however, he had to relinquish that role. The responsibilities were
distributed internally among several heads, so the role of site lead remained formally unoccupied. As part of the consolidation of logistics at the Krefeld-Hüls site and the closure of the warehouse in Krefeld-Fischeln, it was decided to assign the role of site lead to Steffen Beniers.
All 13 employees of the first warehouse hall “Hans” (Hans-Günther-Sohl-Straße) will move to the new hall “Odilia” (Odilia-von-Goch-Straße) and continue working there.
“I am very pleased that we can focus on the Hüls warehouse going forward and that all colleagues from Fischeln will come to our
new site,” says Beniers.
A few employees, according to Galaxus, had already looked for new jobs in 2025 and left the company because they did not want to transfer to the site. Hans will close in April 2026. In total, around 150 people work for Galaxus in Krefeld.
The former head of the Hans large-parts warehouse, Stephanie Oelmann, will become the new outbound manager (Outbound) at the Odilia site. The previous Outbound Leader, Matthias Preukschat, will in the future handle logistics planning, analytics and workflow management. Both will continue to report to
