The logistics service provider Movianto, specialized in the pharma and healthcare sectors, intends to open a third location in Germany in the VGP Park Wiesloch-Walldorf, according to its own statements.
“As a result, our storage capacity in the refrigerated area will double, and for the first time we will also offer cold storage logistics in Germany,” says Dennis Spamer, managing director of Movianto for Germany, Austria and Switzerland. “A long-term lease with the Belgian family-owned company VGP has been signed and the building is already ready. This month we can begin the interior fit-out and plan to bring the facility into operation in two steps in the second and third quarters of 2026.”

Movianto plans a two-shift operation and the employment of up to 180 employees.

is barrier-free, we can, for example, also employ workers who rely on a wheelchair.”
In line with Movianto's specialization, the logistics property is planned with numerous special features and certifications. In order to meet the EU requirements of Good Distribution Practice (GDP) for medicines, all processes from goods receipt, through storage and picking, to dispatch will be GDP-certified, according to the service provider. Once Movianto also takes on manufacturing tasks at the site, an appropriate GMP license (Good Manufacturing Practice) is planned as well.
To ensure the highest possible safety standards, Movianto aims for a TAPA-C certification for the site, according to the company. The Transport Asset Protection Association (TAPA), founded by shippers, is a global association devoted to protecting sensitive
goods, has defined the highest security requirements and verifies compliance with special certifications.
Sustainability considered in construction
Not least, VGP has designed the facility to meet certain sustainability standards. The property will be certified under the DGNB building standard and is to be classified there as Gold. In addition to a heat pump heating system, which can also be used for cooling, LED lighting, rainwater infiltration and a photovoltaic system (PV) enable economical and environmentally friendly operation. The PV system on the roof produces around 3,100 megawatt-hours of electricity per year, Movianto says. This is more than Movianto's projected electricity consumption at this site.
