The Bad Friedrichshall-based general contractor Element Logic has launched the subscription-based automation model "Automation as a Service" (AaaS). Designed as a rental model, AaaS is intended to provide the market with affordable, full access to AutoStore technology and the Element Logic software suite, according to a press release dated October 16. With the offering, Element Logic targets companies that do not yet have
their own AutoStore warehouses.
Minimize upfront costs
The new automation offering combines AutoStore hardware and software with after-sales services and support into a flexible service package, according to the provider. The setup of the grid for the warehouse robots is also included. Instead of costly acquisition costs and long-term capital binding, companies receive a predictable monthly billing under the rental model that is
aligned to performance metrics such as throughput and storage capacity, according to Element Logic. Availability guarantees should secure continuous operation and enable the best possible performance.
AaaS includes, according to the company, a needs analysis and system design, the installation and integration of the AutoStore solution into existing processes, real-time monitoring and proactive support. Software solutions such as "eManager" and "eOperator" from Element
Logic are intended to enable coordinated processes and the integration of the hardware with existing software systems. Ongoing performance evaluations, according to the provider, ensure continuous improvements.
According to the announcement, the target groups for AaaS are in particular 3PL service providers with fluctuating customer volumes as well as growth companies that want to relieve internal resources and scale quickly without tying up
