Oventrop is focusing on the long-term strategic partnership with the Franconian logistics service provider Schäflein for the further development of its logistics. Since the beginning of 2025, customers of the Oventrop Group worldwide have been supplied via a newly constructed logistics center by Schäflein in Gerolzhofen, Bavaria. This was announced in a press release on July 31, 2025.

The logistics center was sustainably built and managed according to the companies. It is intended not only to meet the highest efficiency standards but also to significantly reduce the environmental impact along the supply chain. According to the announcement, Oventrop customers benefit from modern storage technology and the many years of logistics experience of Schäflein AG. Additionally, customized order picking of goods is planned for the

future.

"With this, we create real added value for our customers and strengthen our role as a reliable and competent partner in the HVAC industry," said Johannes Rump, managing partner of Oventrop.

Just a few months after its commissioning, the new logistics center was awarded the DGNB Gold certificate. The German Sustainable Building Council thus confirmed the high sustainability standards of the location, particularly concerning energy efficiency, the use of renewable energies, and resource-conserving construction methods.

"The Gold certification is a fantastic confirmation of our approach. Sustainable construction and operation are economically beneficial, contribute to improved environmental protection, and our partners also benefit from the additional sustainability in their supply chain," said Achim Schäflein, CEO of Schäflein AG.

Johannes Rump also emphasizes the increasing

importance of the topic for Oventrop: "In conversations with our customers, we see that sustainability is playing a larger role in purchasing decisions. With our Oventrop solutions for efficient heating, cooling, and clean drinking water, we have always made an important contribution to the sustainable management of buildings. Through collaboration with Schäflein, we are now also improving the sustainability of our logistics."

The cooperation with Schäflein is, according to the announcement, part of Oventrop's overarching corporate strategy. The company continues to focus on its core competencies in the development and production of modular solutions for the HVAC industry.

Partnership instead of own capacities

The increasing demands on modern delivery logistics—particularly regarding customer-specific order picking—posed a fundamental decision for Oventrop: to build its own capacities

or to cooperate with an experienced partner. After thorough examination, the family-owned company opted for the latter.

"Schäflein AG was able to quickly convince us with its concept for a strategic partnership. Cutting-edge technology, a centrally located logistics center, and Schäflein AG's decades of experience in all areas of logistics—this creates real added value for us as a company and our customers," explains Rump.

The cooperation between the two companies already began in 2023. Since then, Oventrop and Schäflein have been working closely on the preparation and implementation of the project, according to their statements.

"As a logistics service provider, we play a central role in Oventrop's supply chain. Professional preparation and trustworthy cooperation are therefore essential in such projects," says Achim Schäflein. (sv)
