The Thielemann Group has sold its 49-percent stake in Overseas Logistic Services GmbH (OLS), headquartered in Mönchengladbach, to the majority owner Fr. Meyer’s Sohn (FMS), headquartered in Hamburg. Heiko Voigt, CEO of FMS:
“With the transaction, we are strengthening our presence in one of Germany's most important logistics regions. We are pleased to continue the successful collaboration with the ThielemannGroup and to continue offering our customers first-class solutions in overseas logistics.”
Strengthening the
business model and market presence
With the transaction, the freight forwarding company FMS thus takes over all shares and aims to strengthen its market presence in western Germany. The Thielemann Group, according to its own statements, intends to reinvest a large portion of the proceeds from the sale into its own corporate group to sharpen its business model strategically and to expand further.
After the sale, managing director Navid Thielemann is to remain
in his position at OLS. The recently founded Overseas Projects GmbH, which specializes in global project logistics, remains unchanged in the joint venture between the Thielemann Group and FMS, it is said. Hans-Bernd Effing will also remain in a dual role as managing director of OLS as well as Overseas Projects GmbH. Navid Thielemann, CEO of the Thielemann Group:
“The sale of our shares in OLS provides us with new opportunities to invest
independently of investors and to grow sustainably. Our focus is clearly on end-to-end supply chain solutions in e-commerce and global sourcing logistics solutions. In the future as well we will continue to rely on a close partnership with FMS, which has also been the basis of our joint success in recent years.”
Navid Thielemann has headed OLS since 2020 and has relocated the company headquarters, among other things, to the newly built site
