The Austrian Post has commissioned a new post base in Zell am See. According to the company, the site is intended to help efficiently manage the growing parcel volume in the region and to secure delivery quality in the long term. The ceremonial opening took place in

the presence of representatives of the Post and the city municipality.

Capacities and delivery area

The new building has a usable floor area of around 2,200 square meters. About 50 employees sort and distribute from there daily around 3,100 parcels as well as letters, advertising brochures, newspapers

and magazines. The delivery area includes Zell am See and surrounding municipalities in the Salzburg Pinzgau. The base has been designed in such a way that it can be flexibly adapted to future requirements, it is said.

Sustainable construction and modern infrastructure

The new facility was built

modularly and equipped with infrastructure that enables the operation of a fully electric vehicle fleet. For heating, a heat pump, underfloor heating and concrete-core activation are used.
