Goodyear and Schmitz Cargobull have announced plans to expand their existing partnership. According to both companies, the goal of the cooperation is to fully integrate the Goodyear TPMS Connect tire pressure monitoring solution into Schmitz Cargobull's TrailerConnect system. This will allow fleets to directly utilize the benefits of tire monitoring and predictive analytics without the need to install additional hardware or SIM cards.
Technical Integration into Existing Systems
The integration takes place via the Schmitz Cargobull TrailerConnect Data Management Center. This is already installed in the manufacturer's trailers and includes telematics as well as tire pressure monitoring systems. As a plug-and-play solution, Goodyear TPMS Connect can be immediately integrated into this infrastructure. Users thus gain instant access to real-time tire performance data.
For this, Goodyear relies on its proprietary
G-Predict technology. This analyzes sensor data to detect potential problems early and thus prevent unplanned downtime.

Features for Safety and Efficiency
The solution includes continuous monitoring of tire pressure and temperature, as well as GPS-based position tracking of trailers. The predictive maintenance function is intended to help prevent tire damage and thereby reduce operating costs. Moreover, the system supports compliance with current EU regulations on tire pressure monitoring, as Schmitz Cargobull reports.

Central Data Management in the TrailerConnect Data Management Center
Schmitz Cargobull's TrailerConnect Data Management Center serves as a central platform for the real-time monitoring and management of the entire fleet. According to the manufacturer, the system is ready for use without additional IT implementation and can display data across manufacturers. Vehicles from other brands can also be integrated through an import function.
The DMC is networked with more than 40 partner solutions, including providers such as Trimble, Krone, idem, Rio, ZF Transics, and CO3. Through interfaces, users can directly forward data to real-time visibility platforms and other telematic systems.
Users themselves decide which information to release. Schmitz Cargobull emphasizes that all data is processed in compliance with GDPR and that control over business-sensitive information remains with the freight forwarder.
Additional Features for Route Planning and Temperature Control
In conjunction with the additional module TrailerConnect Tourtrack, further functions are available. These include precise real-time overview of route progressions, fast response to changes in the process, as well as interactive temperature monitoring and additional functions that are available on a tour- and order-based (FTL/LTL) basis.
