The Netzweltfabrik from Köthen relies on the tandem three-sided tipping trailer TSK 140 from Fliegl to make transport tasks on its regional construction sites more efficient. The site managers transport mainly excavators and excavation material. The company sees as an advantage that on the loading area with a length of five meters and a width of 2.42 meters up to ten Euro pallets can be accommodated, for example for paving stones.

“I know Fliegl from my previous company; everything fit, and the colleagues also wanted this trailer because it is so versatile,” says site manager Lars Heubner.

Konstruktion und Ladungskapazität

The TSK 140 has a payload of 10,360 kilograms with a curb weight of 4,040 kilograms. According to the manufacturer, the tipping bridge consists of four-millimeter-thick steel sheet. The continuous side walls rest

on six hinges and can be folded down for tipping. The rear wall is pendulum-mounted. Retraction springs on the side walls facilitate folding up the side walls.

The pressure for the hydraulic multi-piston press that moves the three-sided tipping unit is generated by the truck’s auxiliary drive, Fiege explains. Stability is ensured by a continuous tipping shaft, foldable supports at the rear, and a front-side support foot with a two-speed gearbox.

The load securing is carried out via ten heavy-duty lashing eyes recessed in the floor, each with a pull force of five tons, as well as an additional lashing eye in the front wall. The aluminum loading ramps carry up to 8,000 kilograms per pair and can be hooked into a hanging rail at the rear. During travel they store beneath the

loading area in lockable compartments. To adapt the trailer flexibly to different towing vehicles, the tow hitch height can be adjusted by 300 millimeters.

Schutz und Langlebigkeit

Fliegl manufactures the frame of the TSK 140 hot-dip galvanized and passivated, which should provide particularly good protection against corrosion. The company offers a 15-year warranty against rust-through. Heubner emphasizes that these protective measures are crucial for intensive use on construction sites.

Nachhaltige Produktion und Effizienz

According to the manufacturer, Fliegl already pays attention to sustainability in manufacturing. Design, production and assembly take place at a central site, so lengthy inter-plant transports are eliminated. The trailer plant in Thuringia produces more electricity than it consumes. Two CHP plants, large-scale photovoltaic installations, as well as heating energy from wood chips and waste wood secure the operation.

The

vehicle technology itself also contributes to efficiency. Fliegl relies on lightweight construction and aerodynamic optimizations. These include conical depressions on semi-trailers, curved chassis, wind deflectors and special rear-wall membranes. The company lasers individual trailers precisely to tailor them, reducing rolling resistance and tire wear. Two-axle twin curtain-sider semi-trailers reduce fuel consumption and toll costs compared with three-axle units. For this holistic resource efficiency, Fliegl received the German Sustainability Award in 2016.

Relevanz für Bau- und Transportunternehmen

The TSK 140 combines, according to Fliegl, high payload, flexible loading and tipping functions, as well as corrosion protection. Regional construction companies can thereby transport various construction machines and materials with just one trailer. The combination of robust construction, load securing, and sustainable manufacturing makes the trailer, in Netzweltfabrik’s assessment, a reliable tool for daily site operations.
