The L.I.T. Group, together with its long-standing customer Palfinger, opened a new state-of-the-art spare-parts logistics center in North America this Wednesday. The new site in Huntley, Illinois, is located about 30 minutes west of Chicago and is conveniently situated between the Rockford freight hub and O’Hare International Airport.
Loading cranes, aerial work platforms, and hoists
The L.I.T. Group will manage at its own site, on a facility spanning around 16,500 square meters, all logistical activities—from transport and storage to packaging, picking, and shipping.
More than 60,000 spare and production parts from the portfolio of the crane and lifting-solutions
specialist, including loading cranes, aerial work platforms, walk-behind stackers, forestry cranes, as well as roll-off trailers and wire rope hoists, are provided. Thimo Schulz, President and CEO of L.I.T. Global Logistics Inc.:

AutoStore robotic system and digital track-and-trace
The technologies deployed include a fully automated AutoStore robotic system, digital track-and-trace,
and real-time inventory management for warehouse monitoring.
With this, the company aims to ensure efficient and transparent handling and to secure rapid spare-parts supply across the entire North American region, he says. Investment of $20 million
The partnership between the two companies has existed since 2021 and was successfully
expanded into the North American market this year. The opening of the distribution center marks, according to the companies, an important milestone in the collaboration and is part of an investment strategy.
Thus, more than $20 million has been invested to accelerate spare-parts availability in North America. The implementation of the Auto-Store system was supported by Deutsche Leasing AG and Nord/LB.
Initially, the site will be supervised by an experienced core team as well as a project team from Contract Logistics Germany. In full operation by early 2026, the team is expected to grow to around 50 employees,
