The MTB GmbH, based in Nordstemmen in Lower Saxony, offers as a medium-sized construction company civil engineering, building construction, and railway construction projects, including track, platform, and level crossing works. According to its own statements, the company carries out cable trenching projects, including laying new routes or renovating existing facilities.
Also offered are culvert renovations as well as infrastructure measures on behalf of public and private clients. In addition, MTB GmbH regularly acts as general contractor on construction contracts for Deutsche Bahn AG.
Three to be delivered, one truck already handed over
Now the company’s fleet is to be expanded by three new Arocs Extent.
The first vehicle was handed over to MTB recently. According to Mercedes-Benz, the limited special model, capped at 100 units, was developed specifically for demanding operations in construction-site traffic.
In addition to a robust build and modern technology, it is said to also score with a design in dark-chrome and matte weather-grey.

Design and technology features
Among the equipment features are a front-end panel with integrated Arocs lettering in dark chrome, LED main headlights with auxiliary lamps in the sun visor, carbon-look trim elements, and stainless steel components such as axle caps and wheel-nut protection caps.
There is a choice between Euro VI diesel engines OM 470, OM 471 (3rd generation) or the powerful OM 473. According to the manufacturer, these are all suited for heavy-duty operations and also offer high efficiency.
The first vehicle handed over to MTB is powered by the OM 473. According to the manufacturer, the inline six-cylinder has a displacement of 15.6 liters and 460 kW
(625 hp). The high torque is said to enable a "sovereign power delivery" even under heavy load in construction-site operation, it says.
In addition, a common-rail injection system with X-Pulse pressure boosting up to a maximum pressure of 2,700 bar, as well as turbo compound technology to utilize additional exhaust energy, will be used.
