At the end of November 2024, Mercedes-Benz Trucks celebrated the start of series production of the eActros 600 at the Wörth plant. Since December 2024 it has been delivered to customers, and it is currently in daily use on the road in more than 15 European countries, according to the company.

Expansion for the e-Family

Before the serial start, the “eActros 600 European Testing Tour 2024” covered over 15,000 kilometers across a total of 22 countries, and the “European Testing Tour Winter 2025” covered around 6,500 kilometers through Northern Europe

— each with a 40-tonne gross combined weight.

Now the electric diversity is set to grow further: On 30 September 2025 the manufacturer intends to present for the first time the expanded portfolio of the second-generation battery-electric eActros. The offering will be modularly expanded with various variants, building on the eActros 600.

These include tractor units and flatbed chassis with different wheelbases, models with two battery packs, and alternative L-cab variants of the proven Actros design.

The new variants are intended to combine modern drive technology with high energy efficiency.

An initial teaser photo already provides a preview of the debut vehicle of the new eActros family.

The eActros 600

The manufacturer states a range of 500 kilometers without mid-charge for the eActros 600 – under realistic conditions with a 40-tonne gross combined weight. Depending on driving style and route, this could also be exceeded. More than 1,000 kilometers are possible with intermediate charging during the legally mandated driver breaks.

The eActros 600 has, according to the manufacturer, three battery packs with 207 kWh each, delivering an installed total capacity

of 621 kWh. The batteries, based on lithium iron phosphate cell technology (LFP), are said to be characterized by a long service life.

Over 95 percent of the installed capacity can be used with the LFP technology – which is supposed to enable a higher range.

According to Mercedes-Benz Trucks, the vehicle is technically designed for a combined gross weight of up to 44 tonnes. The eActros 600 would have a payload of around 22 tonnes with a standard trailer in the EU—national law may in some cases permit a
