Metzger Logistics & Transport introduced the telematics solution Webfleet across its entire vehicle fleet at the end of July 2025. According to the company, the system is also integrated into the three electrically powered trucks that are in daily use. Webfleet provides functions specifically developed for heavy electric vehicles, including charging planning, real-time display of remaining range, and predictive disposition.

Objective: Increasing Efficiency and

Compliance with Legal Requirements

The new solution enables faster responsiveness, optimized route planning, and the reduction of empty runs. In addition, service quality is to be increased and work processes improved. Legal requirements such as driving and rest periods, driving license checks, and speed monitoring can be more precisely met according to the information provided. For the combustion vehicles, which are fully powered by

the alternative fuel HVO100, Webfleet additionally records the CO2 emissions.

Part of the Sustainability Strategy “Charge the Future”

The introduction of the system is part of the sustainability strategy “Charge the Future.” This aims to convert at least half of the fleet to electric drive by 2030. Besides electrification, the company relies on the consistent use of HVO100 in the remaining combustion fleet and

the use of solar energy at the company headquarters.
