The Federal Association for Parcel and Express Logistics announced in Berlin on 11 September 2025 the social-media initiative "Die Glücksbringer." According to the association, the campaign aims to put the people who handle delivery, sorting, and the organization of the packages at the center. The goal is to make their work more transparent and to sharpen the public perception of the employees' performance.

Portraits of frontline workers

The campaign presents employees with different biographies. Among others, a courier who has been with UPS for 18 years is presented, as well as a logistics specialist who works at a

Hermes Germany service partner after fleeing Ukraine. Additionally, a female career changer who is employed at a GLS operation and has established herself in the predominantly male-dominated industry is portrayed. This is intended to show the diversity in parcel logistics and to illustrate that the industry opens up employment opportunities for people with different backgrounds.

„Uns geht es darum, die Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter sichtbar zu machen und einen Einblick in ihren Arbeitsalltag zu geben. Wir wollen Bewusstsein dafür schaffen, welche Leistung hinter jedem Paket steckt und dass Logistikprozesse nur mit engagierten Menschen funktionieren“, sagt BPEX-Vorsitzender Marten Bosselmann.

Industry

as an entry point into the labor market

According to BPEX, parcel and express logistics also provides access to the job market for people without formal education or with low qualifications. The association also emphasizes the industry's role as an engine of integration for employees with a migration background.

Campaign against prejudices

The initiative will also, according to the association, dispel existing prejudices.

„We are clearly committed to good working conditions and to complying with legal regulations. This includes close cooperation between our member companies and the competent authorities. Violations of legal norms are not tolerated“, said BPEX

chairman Marten Bosselmann.

He also referred to a 2024 survey of delivery workers, which showed a high baseline satisfaction among the employees.

Structure and significance of the association

The Federal Association for Parcel and Express Logistics was founded in 1982. According to its own statements, it represents the interests of around 4,000 companies in the courier, express and parcel sector in Germany. These currently generate an annual turnover of 27.6 billion euros, employ more than 266,000 people and transport around 4.3 billion shipments annually.
