Practical test of a special kind: A cycling team of eleven employees from Renault Trucks Germany wanted to cross the Alps by bicycle in four days. The route, over 350 kilometers long, led from the Upper Bavarian community of Taufkirchen near Munich to Lake Garda.
But simultaneously with the sporting challenge, a fully electric Renault Trucks E-Tech Master of the 4th generation was to master the route - with only one battery charge.
The goal: to test the performance of the fully
electric transporter under real conditions - especially in terms of range, efficiency, and reliability.
"With the E-Tech Master, we consciously embrace the challenge of 'human versus machine' – for us, it's not just a technical test of range and performance, but above all an expression of our lived responsibility towards the environment, sustainable mobility, and our employees," said Maximilian von Löbbecke, Managing Director of Renault Trucks Germany. Ultimately, the vehicle reached its destination with a remaining range of 40 kilometers - thanks to intelligent energy use, anticipatory driving, and effective recuperation, it is reported.
The project is also seen as a statement of environmental commitment. The kilometers driven are collected as part of the "Kolping Cycling 2025 – Kilometers for the Climate" initiative.
For every 50 kilometers per person, the Kolping Society will plant a
tree in Germany. Besides technology and sustainability, the focus of the initiative is on collaboration and team spirit.
