The companies of the express-delivery service Trans-o-flex have again undergone several certification processes. “In the recertification for ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 we passed all audits without major deviations,” said CEO Martin Reder. According to him, the certificates for the companies Trans-o-flex Express, ThermoMed, Logistik-Service and ThermoMed Austria were extended for another three years without any conditions.
It has also been confirmed that the compliance with the EU's Good Distribution Practice (GDP) rules for medicines has been established. The GDP certificates are valid for two years, according to the information.
Improving processes
The quality management system
had the express-delivery service company certified for the first time in 1995. The first ISO 14001 certification was in August 2010, and the first GDP certification occurred in the same year. According to Reder, certifications are an indispensable part of the quality strategy.
„We can thereby continuously improve our processes and also document our quality externally,“ he explains.
ISO 9001
The ISO 9001 standard sets requirements to ensure the quality of products and services. The aim of ISO 14001 is to minimize the negative environmental impacts of a company and to promote sustainable development. The verification
of both standards was carried out by the certification company BSI Group. The GDP certification was carried out by TÜV Süd, according to the information.
Tapa FSR C 2023
In addition to GDP, quality and environmental management, certification according to the security standards TAPA FSR C 2023 has also been achieved for two additional network locations; by 2025, there will thus already be six locations newly certified to the TAPA standards.
The shipper association Transported Asset Protection Association (TAPA) has, according to Trans-o-flex, developed the security standard FSR for handling particularly at-risk cargo.
The aim is
to prevent costly losses from damage as well as from theft and other criminal incursions on valuable cargo. FSR stands for Facility Security Requirements; for example, video surveillance of transshipment centers is also provided.
“With the TAPA FSR certification, we increase the security of our freight and reduce insurance costs,” says Reder.
More certifications to follow
For 2025, certification according to TAPA FSR C 2023 is also planned for the locations in Bruchsal, Hanover and Koblenz. This will mean that the company will have TAPA certification for all four locations in Austria as well as 23
