The Transco Group is building a new logistics center on the outskirts of Singen at Hohentwiel in Baden-Württemberg, in close proximity to the Swiss border, by the end of 2026. With an investment of around 40 million euros, the logistics company is significantly expanding its capacity.
On a site of 52,000 square meters, 22,000 square meters of storage space, a modern high-bay warehouse, an automated small-parts warehouse, and a hazardous materials warehouse are to be built. The groundbreaking took place last Friday. Planning and construction are handled by Goldbeck GmbH.
The new center thus expands the capacity at the existing main sites in Singen and Gottmadingen and is intended to strengthen the company's position as a partner for complex supply chains, international transports, and sustainable logistics solutions, according to the logistics operator.
Services for Swiss Companies
The new
building follows the growing e-commerce, nearshoring and increasing requirements for sustainability. The company relies on automated systems, flexible warehouse concepts and high safety standards. The site also includes, among other things, a hazardous materials warehouse. Christian Bücheler, owner and CEO of the Transco Group:

The logistics center is located on the eastern outskirts of Singen, in direct proximity to the local industrial cluster and about ten kilometers from the Swiss border. Due to the proximity to the highway and to the Hupac terminal for rail freight transports
in Singen, there is a close network of international transport routes by road and rail.
Sustainability in Focus
Thus, the logistics provider also uses its expertise in intermodal transport at the new site. Swiss companies expanding into the EU benefit just as regional firms from fast and smooth processes. David Bücheler, co-owner and Head of Logistics at Transco:

The new building also meets the BEG-40 standard. Part of the sustainability concept are also photovoltaic systems, heat pumps, charging infrastructure for electric vehicles, as
well as over 200 newly planted trees and 3,500 square meters of habitat areas for flora and fauna.
Additionally, according to Transco, the logistics center has a hazardous materials warehouse as well as the prerequisites for the safe storage of water-hazardous substances. In addition, the modern equipment with automated storage and process solutions will increase efficiency. And efficient use of space, short routes and optimized workflows are expected to lead to lower operating costs and stable prices.
