The new engine stop/start function from Volvo Trucks is based on the I-See and I-Roll technologies and is intended to enable an even more efficient use of the engine. The technology uses continuous monitoring of road data and route information to detect upcoming gradients and temporarily shut off the engine.
As a result,
no fuel is consumed during this period, and there are no CO2 exhaust emissions. Jan Hjelmgren, Head of Product Management at Volvo Trucks:

The new stop/start function of the engine is activated at a speed of 60 kilometers per hour and, according to the manufacturer, depending on the respective
conditions such as topography and ambient temperature, in addition to the savings already achieved, can save up to one percent of fuel and CO2 emissions.
The new feature will be offered for the Volvo FH and the Volvo FH Aero with the 13-liter diesel engine and can be ordered from November this year.
