Locus Robotics has introduced the automation platform Locusone at the MSK Pharma Group. The platform coordinates forty-eight autonomous mobile robots that manage task allocation, routing, and resource deployment. The goal was to improve processes in warehouse operations and enable scalable and data-driven control, according to Locus Robotics.
Support for growing logistics volumes
MSK Pharma Group, headquartered in Heppenheim, operates as a service provider for the pharmaceutical and healthcare sector and supplies pharmacies, pharmaceutical wholesalers, and medical facilities. The company has been deploying the robotics solution for six months in two logistics centers in Bensheim, which together cover
an area of twenty-eight thousand square meters. The deployment of the technology is intended to handle increasing volumes of customer orders and to comply with the requirements of Good Distribution Practice and Good Manufacturing Practice, according to the announcement. This includes temperature monitoring, end-to-end traceability, as well as validated processes and product safety.
Efficiency gains through mobile robot fleets
The autonomous vehicles assist the employees with order picking. According to MSK Pharma Group, this increases the number of orders handled daily and shortens the processing time per order. Locus Robotics provides the systems under a usage-based model.
The platform also enables shared control of two physically separated warehouses. According to the company, the robot fleet can be flexibly deployed at both sites.
“The deployment of Locus Robotics is an important step for us toward future-oriented logistics processes,” emphasizes Simon Heß, Managing Director of the MSK Pharma Group. “The mobile robot fleet not only increases our efficiency and processing speed, but also ensures noticeably better working conditions. Less physical strain, faster order processing, and even more reliable delivery to our partners. These are clear added values that we realize with this investment.”

The operator points to the site's sustainable orientation. The warehouse is fully CO₂-neutral, runs without fossil fuels, and draws its energy supply from photovoltaic systems. In addition, the company relies on energy-efficient and durable vehicles.
Statements by the parties involved
In a statement, Simon Heß, Managing Director of the MSK Pharma Group, described the use of robotics as an important step toward a future-oriented logistics structure. Denis Niezgoda, Chief Commercial Officer International at Locus Robotics, stated, according to company information, that the project underscores the growing importance of automated solutions for specialized sectors such as
