Amazon placed, at the start of 2025, its largest order of electric trucks to date: more than 200 Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 are intended for transport in Germany and the United Kingdom and are to contribute to the decarbonization of Amazon's logistics network.
The first of the ordered battery-electric long-haul trucks
is now on the roads in the United Kingdom. According to the manufacturer, they can be charged from 10% to 80% in around 70 minutes using fast charging infrastructure with a charging power of 400 kW.
Together, the vehicles are expected to deliver more than 300 million products per year.
Serial production of the eActros started at the end of November 2024 at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Wörth. Since December 2024 it has been delivered to customers and is currently in daily operation in more than 15 European countries, according to the manufacturer.
Recently the manufacturer expanded the portfolio with
additional variants based on the eActros 600. Depending on requirements for range, payload and comfort, future options could include two cab variants, two or three battery packs as well as different wheelbases and new axle configurations.
