The forklift manufacturer Jungheinrich AG is bringing to market the AME 18, a new low-lift pallet truck tailored to the requirements of modern logistics. The vehicle combines a load capacity of 1,800 kilograms with a particularly low own weight and a compact design. This makes it suitable for use in tight spaces and on weight-sensitive surfaces, such as in branch warehouses, production environments, or when loading and unloading trucks. The new low-lift pallet

truck was developed in close collaboration between the Jungheinrich sites in Norderstedt, Germany and Qingpu, China.

"With the AME 18 we are bringing a vehicle to market that not only impresses with its compactness and robustness, but also sets new standards in terms of performance," says Faruk Gökdurmuş, Product Manager at Jungheinrich.

The collaboration between the teams in Norderstedt and Qingpu has produced a product that meets the requirements of modern logistics in

every respect.

Lithium-ion battery with on-board charger for plug-in operation

A central technical feature is the lithium-ion battery, which ensures high energy efficiency and enables maintenance-free operation. The battery can be charged at any socket via a built-in charger or also exchanged. An integrated fast charging function allows intermediate charges and is intended to ensure a high availability of the device even in time-critical processes.

Particular attention is also paid, according to Jungheinrich,

to ease of use. The AME 18 is equipped with bidirectional one-handed control, which can be used intuitively. With a creep-speed button, the vehicle can be maneuvered even in very confined areas.

A reinforced steel construction as well as protected support wheels increase robustness and safety in use. This should be complemented by a high driving and cornering stability, which reduces risks for operators, transported goods and the machine, according to the manufacturer.
