The Rhenus Group has been appointed by Correios, the state postal and logistics service of Brazil, as the logistics service provider for the UN Climate Conference COP 30. The event will take place from 10 to 21 November 2025 in Belém in the state of Pará. Correios assumes national coordination as strategic logistics partner, while Rhenus is responsible for the international transport of cargo for the United Nations.
Transport chain from Bonn to Belém
According to the company, the transport of UN shipments begins at the Bonn location. From there, Rhenus transports the cargo via the São Paulo–Guarulhos and Viracopos airports to Brazil. The import takes place under a temporary customs procedure. After the conference, the return of the goods via
Frankfurt to Bonn is organized.
Rhenus Brazil coordinates the international operations and collaborates with Correios. The aim is the timely and secure handling of all logistical processes for the conference.

Experience with international large-scale events
In 2024, Rhenus was already the official logistics partner of COP 29 in Baku, Azerbaijan. In addition, the company took on transport and infrastructure logistics for the Belgian Olympic team at the 2024 Summer Games in Paris. Rhenus was also active logistically at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. Furthermore, the company was named as the official freight forwarder for trade fairs at the Riyadh Front Exhibition and Conference Centre in Saudi Arabia.
Focus on low-emission transport solutions
At Rhenus, the aim
is to achieve net-zero emissions by 2045 through CO2-efficient solutions. To this end, the logistics provider relies on alternative propulsion systems, the expansion of intermodal transport chains, and digital tools for capturing and reducing emissions. The air freight service RheGreen avoids up to 40 percent of CO2 emissions by selecting the most efficient aircraft. In addition, the Emissions Dashboard and the Transport Mode Optimizer provide digital support for environmentally oriented routing and carrier-modeling.
After completing the logistics services for COP 30, Rhenus plans to prepare a detailed emissions report. This is intended, according to the company, to document the CO2 footprint of the transports after the operation, promote transparency, and strengthen planning of conscious logistics in line with global sustainability standards.
