The Alfred Schuon Group is renewing parts of its fleet and aims to strengthen its own focus on sustainable transport solutions, according to their own statements. This year, 68 new trucks including trailers and semi-trailers are to be integrated into the fleet at the locations Haiterbach and Veszprém in Hungary. The new acquisitions include, among others, Mercedes-Benz Actros L with aerodynamically optimized ProCabins as well as two fully electric eActros 600 semi-trailer tractors. Alexander Schuon, Managing Director of the Alfred Schuon Group:

Three E-Trucks for Fixed Shuttle Routes
One of the two new eActros 600 is already in use, and the second is to be delivered in the fall. This expands the electric fleet to three fully electric trucks, complemented by several hybrid cars. The battery-powered trucks would
take over fixed shuttle routes, where the necessary charging infrastructure is already integrated into the logistics processes. Alexander Schuon:
“The entry into electromobility is an important part of our Green Logistics strategy. It's about gaining experience and further advancing the use of sustainable transport solutions under real conditions. Many drivers are rather skeptical – all the more important to convince them with well-thought-out logistics concepts and excellent driving properties.”
Volume Vehicles in Use
Except for the eActros, which are not available as
mega trailer or jumbo trailer trucks, the new acquisitions are volume vehicles, it further states. MAN jumbo trailer trucks as well as Mercedes-Benz Actros mega trailer and jumbo trailer trucks would be used. These are partially equipped with piggyback forklifts and would be deployed on fixed shuttle routes and pan-European tramp traffic. Alexander Schuon:
"Our focus remains on volume transports – with different payloads, optimized total weight, and economical operating costs.”
