O9, a provider of AI software platforms for planning and decision-making in enterprises, has implemented a solution with production and procurement planning functions at the high-fashion corporation Prada. The IT specialist announced this in a press release. The aim was to increase operational efficiency and ensure the quality standards in the leather goods division of the Prada Group.
The global luxury fashion company includes well-known brands such as Prada, Miu Miu, Church's, Car Shoe, and
Marchesi 1824. The Prada Group is headquartered in Milan, Italy, and is strongly represented in the areas of ready-to-wear clothing, shoes, leather goods, and eyewear in Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and North and South America.
Better planning of complexities
The Prada Group chose to partner with o9 to optimize the planning of its highly complex and multi-tiered global supply chain, develop production plans for finished and semi-finished goods, gain better insights into the capacities
of internal factories and external suppliers, and align raw material procurement with production plans, according to the statement.
As part of this collaboration, o9's Digital Brain platform will provide the Prada Group with production workflows that allow planners to assess risks and efficiently approve production orders. It will generate reports to support procurement decisions almost in real-time and access causal analysis reports to gain insights into current and upcoming production operations. This is intended to
help the company's planners identify potential problems in the supply chain and proactively mitigate them.
“o9 is pleased to partner with the Prada Group to optimize production planning with a best-in-class platform that mitigates potential risks that could lead to capacity constraints and develops processes that enable smarter procurement, planning, and decision-making,” said Chakri Gottemukkala, co-founder and CEO of o9. “We look forward to continuing our partnership with the Prada Group in the coming years.”
