The Nagel-Group, together with project developer LemonTree, is constructing a new logistics center in Gdansk, Poland. On an area of around 21,000 square meters, a customized site for temperature-controlled food logistics is being created, the logistics service provider announced on May 5. The completion of the new logistics center is planned for the first half of 2026.

“With the new construction in Gdansk, we are specifically strengthening our presence in the Polish market and creating the infrastructural prerequisites to continue serving our customers flexibly, sustainably, and efficiently in the future,” said Carsten Taucke,

CEO of the Nagel-Group.

The new logistics center is tailored to the requirements of temperature-controlled food logistics, according to the Nagel-Group. The warehouse will have areas for ambient and ultra-fresh products as well as a large transshipment warehouse. The different zones will be equipped with modern cooling systems based on glycol-ammonia technology. According to the information provided, the building has been designed to be structurally prepared for the further development of the Nagel-Group's services – not only in terms of goods handling but also for the management of frozen goods. The structural design

allows for the later addition of extra cooling chambers without having to intervene in the existing structure.

“Our customers expect the highest quality and reliability from us, especially with sensitive, temperature-controlled products. With the new location, we meet these requirements,” said Robert Katafiasz, Managing Director of the Nagel-Group in Poland.

According to the logistics service provider, the new site is being planned and implemented sustainably: The office and storage areas will be heated with heat pumps, with additional utilization of waste heat from the cooling processes. In the winter months, when heat recovery

is not sufficient, additional heat pumps will ensure effective energy management. A photovoltaic system with a capacity of 1.5 MWp on the roof will support self-power supply. Rainwater will be used to maintain the green spaces and to clean trailers.

With the project “COOL BTS Gdańsk,” the Nagel-Group is continuing its successful collaboration with LemonTree. Depenbrock Polska has been commissioned as the general contractor. “We value LemonTree as a reliable and solution-oriented partner who understands our requirements and translates them into sustainable, future-oriented real estate,” said André Pleines, Executive Director Real Estate at
