The logistics real estate developer CTP and Node.energy, provider of the SaaS solution "opti.node", recently announced an energy partnership. For sustainable power supply, CTP plans to provide 90 percent of its properties across Europe entirely with "green" energy by 2030. The company relies on photovoltaic systems on the rooftops of its properties. Since electricity generated from solar energy fluctuates depending on the time of day and weather conditions, the developer draws electricity from other sustainable energy sources, such as wind power, during periods of higher consumption.

Node.energy GmbH, based in Frankfurt am Main, offers

climate-neutral energy solutions for producers and consumers. The company develops the SaaS solution opti.node. This is intended to enable operators of renewable energy systems to implement lucrative business models professionally and securely.

According to reports, Node.energy allows users to find the appropriate energy supplier in a decentralized energy market. Node.energy connects consumers with approximately 14,000 certified producers of CO2-neutral, local energy through direct PPAs (Power Purchase Agreements). An example of this is the "match" of the wind power producer Windpark.eu with CTP, which provides the developer with energy generated from wind power when needed.

With the new model for supplying its properties, CTP not only takes another step toward sustainability but also acts as a full-service energy provider itself. Tenants benefit from a more reliable and cheaper energy supply. According to the company, due to independence from the regular electricity market, costly intermediaries are not needed for the energy supply, and price fluctuations do not have to be accepted. Another advantage for the users is that all energy services at CTP are in one hand, from generation to billing.

In the future, thanks to the partnership, CTP will

also be able to trade and sell its locally generated, surplus energy on the spot market.

"When it comes to energy in the logistics real estate sector, there's still a lot of potential that's currently untapped," said Thomas Gooßens, Head of Energy Business at CTP Germany. "Tenants and owners face the challenges of rising energy prices and high demands for sustainability and climate protection, for example, by the ESG criteria. The partnership with Node.energy allows us to become a pioneer in energy in the logistics real estate market, which benefits our property users in
