Austrian Post AG has relocated its branch in Vienna's 13th district, Hietzing, to a new location. The modernized branch at Amalienstraße 57 was recently opened. The previous branch on Hietzinger Hauptstraße 80 remains in operation and will in the future be operated as a self-service branch around the clock.
Facilities and space layout
The new branch, according to the Post, has a total floor area of around 220 square meters. Of this, about 175 square meters are devoted to the self-service area and around 45 square meters to the shop area. A Post Station with
1,221 pickup compartments is available for around-the-clock pickup of shipments. Three shipping stations enable the franking and sending of letters, parcels and returns. For personal matters, two counters staffed by employees are available.

Technical Equipment and Security
In the self-service zone, the Post, according to its own statements, is testing a pilot project with camera-based security support. The artificial intelligence-based surveillance technology is intended to increase security in the self-service area without impairing operations. The branch is barrier-free and follows a modern design concept with sustainable materials. These include wood paneling, which according to the company is intended to contribute to a pleasant atmosphere.
