In the period from Thursday, August 14, 2025, 11:00 PM to Monday, August 25, 2025, 5:00 AM, there will be operational restrictions in rail freight transport in the Regensburg and Passau area due to planned construction work by DB InfraGO. In particular, the Duss Terminal Regensburg East will not be accessible by rail during this time.
Rail access for Regensburg East and Passau interrupted
As TFG Transfracht reports, the work at the Regensburg East operations station involves, among other things, the renewal of switches and sleepers. Since the route for trains to and from Passau runs via Regensburg, the Passau terminal will also not be accessible via the rail network from August 14, 11:00 PM, to August 25, 5:00 AM.
Rerouting to alternative terminals planned
To minimize the
impact on ongoing operations, the transport company has reacted early and partially rerouted traffic to surrounding terminals. Among others, the CTR Terminal in Bayernhafen Regensburg and facilities in Munich and Nuremberg are reportedly being used. Nonetheless, not all usual capacities are available during the construction phase.
Restrictions in container traffic
The capacity bottlenecks caused by the construction work may lead to restrictions in container
traffic. The company particularly points out that “meeting delivery deadlines and ship loading deadlines can no longer be guaranteed.”
Information for customers
Customers are directly informed about affected shipments by customer service. At the same time, the company asks for understanding “that we cannot assume liability for any resulting additional costs.” The goal remains to keep the operational impact on the transports as minimal
