DKV Mobility has integrated the one-millionth public charging point into its European e-mobility network. The rapid charging station in question, with a power capacity of 400 kilowatts, is located in Raubling, Bavaria, on the premises of the Inntaler Autohof. The facility is operated by the energy supplier Energie Südbayern (ESB) in cooperation with the logistics company Dettendorfer. The station can be used by both electric cars and electric trucks and is conveniently located on the A93 motorway.

Charging infrastructure continually grows

Since the launch of the e-mobility offering in 2015, DKV Mobility has continuously expanded its own acceptance network for charging points. On average, around 8,000 new charging points have been connected

per month since then, according to the mobility service provider's press release. The network now covers almost all of Germany, France, and Italy as well as central European transport corridors.

“As a leading platform for sustainable mobility in Europe, it is our aim to make charging electric vehicles as simple, efficient, and widespread as possible for our customers — today and in the future,” says Sven Mehringer, Managing Director at DKV Mobility, responsible for Energy & Vehicle Services. “I am pleased that we can now offer our customers access to one of the largest EV charging networks in Europe with one million charging points.”

Extent of use

In 2024, approximately 755 million

kilowatt hours of electricity were charged through the DKV network. This amount of energy corresponds to about five million electrically driven kilometers. Currently, around 789,000 charging cards are in circulation.

Charging solutions for depots and private locations

Since 2019, DKV Mobility has been offering so-called @home and @work charging solutions in addition to public charging points. This allows commercial users to charge their vehicles at home or at work. To date, more than 10,000 wall boxes have been installed.

Organizational development and investments

A small team of two employees managed the e-mobility area in 2015. Now, over 300 people are employed in this area. In 2021, DKV Mobility expanded its technical expertise

by acquiring the charging software provider Greenflux. At the end of 2024, DKV also entered the Aachen-based company Smartlab, a provider of charging infrastructure management and billing systems. As part of this strategic partnership, DKV acquired a majority stake in Smartlab.

Company profile

DKV Mobility currently serves around 407,000 active customers in over 50 European countries. Overall, the company's supply network includes approximately 70,000 conventional refueling stations, around 24,000 stations for alternative fuels, and the EV charging network that has now grown to one million charging points.
