The Geis Group has been a member of the international air and sea freight network World Air Cargo Organisation (WACO) since October 2025. According to the company, Geis thus belongs to the two partners from Germany within the global network. With the inclusion, the logistics provider strengthens its international presence in the Air and Sea Services business area.

According to the company, WACO brings together 121 member companies from 118 countries. The network operates over 400 locations with around 21,000 employees. Each year more than 1.85 million shipments are processed with a total volume of over one million tons. The total revenue of the members amounts to around 3.4 billion euros.

Partnership as

a Key Building Block

The decision to admit the Geis Group, according to the company's announcement, followed an assessment by WACO. The decisive factors were the international orientation, the performance development of the past years, and the demonstrated quality in operational handling. In addition, the long-standing experience in existing cooperations such as the LTL alliance IDS was positively evaluated.

„With joining WACO, we join one of the most renowned global networks,“ say Hans-Wolfgang Geis and Jochen Geis, managing partners of the Geis Group. „This partnership is another important building block in our strategy to continue developing the Air + Sea Services area.“

Part of the Strategic Realignment

The membership in the WACO network

is connected to the new restructuring of the Air and Sea Services business area completed in April 2025. According to Geis, Klaus Hrazdira, Chief Operating Officer of Quehenberger Logistics, took over pan-European responsibility for this area within the Geis Group. The measure is intended to further accelerate the integration and cohesion of the corporate group after the integration of Quehenberger Logistics.

„The WACO membership is the ideal complement to our strategic realignment,“ says Klaus Hrazdira. „The international network offers us excellent opportunities to provide our customers with even better logistics solutions worldwide, while benefiting from proven digital platforms and processes.“

Access to Digital Solutions and Carrier Programs

Through membership in WACO, Geis gains

access, according to its own statements, to digital applications of the network, including a global track-and-trace system and standardized data exchange platforms. The company can also use preferred programs with international transport service providers. These systems are intended to enable more efficient management of transportation chains and closer networking within the network.

According to the company, with the WACO membership Geis aims to actively expand its international transport activities and further strengthen its global networking.(av)
