Kögel has introduced a new program for the professional repair of used trailers. With this offer, known as Back to Check, the vehicle manufacturer from Burtenbach aims to appeal primarily to transport companies in road freight transport that want to operate their fleet economically while also focusing on sustainable solutions.
The focus of the program is the technical and visual refurbishment of used Kögel vehicles. As the manufacturer assures, the work is carried out in the company's own workshop and is based on the actual condition of the vehicle as well as the customer's specifications. The goal is to replace worn or safety-relevant components in a timely manner and bring the
vehicles to a level comparable to new vehicles, according to Kögel.
The refurbishment can provide a cost-effective alternative to purchasing new, according to the company. Depending on the effort and scope of the measures, part of the investment budget can be saved and used for other purposes. Additionally, preventive maintenance can reduce future repair and maintenance costs. This results in a lower overall Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
Kögel points to several features that are meant to distinguish the new program from other offerings in the market. This includes the use of only original parts and an extended warranty that, depending on the selected scope of service, applies to the entire
trailer.
"In line with our motto 'Because We Care,' we are setting a significant mark for more sustainability with the Kögel refurbishment program. We mean business! Our Back to Check refurbishment program is comprehensive and offers, depending on the scope of service, a warranty promise on the entire Kögel trailer," explains Thore Bakker, CSO of Kögel.
The company sees another argument in the environmental aspect. The targeted replacement of individual components while simultaneously extending the service life can significantly reduce CO2 emissions in the transport chain. Compared to the production of a new trailer, the refurbishment considerably reduces the need for energy, raw materials, and water.
Additionally, Kögel optionally offers the
possibility to retrofit older vehicles with more efficient components. These include, among other things, lighter components and electrical units intended to reduce fuel consumption and emissions in operation.
With the new offer, Kögel is responding to the increased demand for economic solutions in fleet management. In volatile market phases, many vehicles are kept in service longer. The extended lifespan through targeted maintenance can represent a viable alternative to purchasing new.
The company positions Back to Check as a solution for companies that want to operate both economically and sustainably. The decision for a refurbishment can thus have a positive impact not only on the balance sheet but also on a company's
