After a successful pilot phase and gradual rollout, the "Driver Terminal" is now in regular operation at all German locations of the Nagel-Group. The goal is to ease the daily work routine of professional drivers and dispatch personnel alike, it says. The focus is on overcoming language barriers, reducing manual tasks, minimizing waiting times, and reducing paperwork. The rollout for all international locations is scheduled for July.

75 Terminals in UseAt the end of 2024, the logistics company initiated the new project at the Borgholzhausen site. Group-wide, 75 terminals are currently

in use and form the new digital interface between driving personnel and the location.

The "Driver Terminal" is based on multilingual, intuitively operable software, which is intended to enable driving personnel to independently handle processing operations, reduce waiting times and administrative effort. Michael Lütjann, CIO of the Nagel-Group:

"In a short time, a pilot project has become a pioneering system that redefines our driver processing across Europe. With the rollout throughout Europe, we are creating a uniform solution that not only simplifies our internal processes but also improves cooperation with our

partners."

From Paper Form to Self-ServiceBefore the introduction of the "Driver Terminal," driver processing was carried out manually, and truck drivers had to personally register at the groupage office, fill out forms, present identification documents, and wait for manual processing by the staff.

Now the process is expected to be fully digital, so drivers can independently check in at the terminal and digitally sign transport documents. They then receive information about their processing via a receipt.

The implementation is reported to be particularly advanced at the pilot location in Borgholzhausen, according

to the logistics company. Processing in the groupage area is now fully carried out via the "Driver Terminal." Marta Dauer, department head of groupage dispatch at the Borgholzhausen location:

"The terminal supports the team around the clock in processing. This allows work hours and tasks in the logistics area to be rearranged. Peak times during vacation or high absenteeism can be better managed, reducing waiting times for our drivers."

By the end of July 2025, the Nagel-Group intends to make the "Driver Terminal" available at all European locations of the company.
